Notting Hill is known for its vibrant culture and beautiful streets, but it also hides some of London’s best dining spots. One such gem is Julie’s, a charming restaurant with a timeless elegance that offers an exquisite dining experience. I recently visited Julie’s, and it was nothing short of delightful—from the stylish ambiance to the meticulously prepared dishes.

Atmosphere: Vintage Charm Meets Modern Elegance

Julie’s has a unique atmosphere that combines vintage charm with modern touches. The space is cozy and intimate, perfect for a relaxed evening, yet elegant enough to make any meal feel like a special occasion. The soft lighting, plush seating, and artistic décor create an ambiance that draws you in, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.

Starters: A Delicious Beginning

We started with two classic French starters—Steak Tartare and Pâté. The Steak Tartare was exceptional, finely chopped and seasoned to perfection with capers, mustard, and herbs. Each bite was fresh and flavorful, with a delicate balance of textures that made it a standout dish.

The Pâté was equally impressive, smooth and rich with a depth of flavor that paired beautifully with the freshly baked bread. It was indulgent without being overpowering, a perfect starter to whet the appetite.

To complement these dishes, we also had the Risotto as a starter. Creamy and perfectly cooked, the risotto was light yet full of flavor, with just the right amount of Parmesan to give it a velvety finish. It was a lovely contrast to the richer, more robust starters and prepared our palates for the main course.

Main Course: A Classic Steak Done Right

For the main, we couldn’t resist trying the Steak—a signature dish at Julie’s. Cooked to perfection, the steak was tender and juicy, with a beautiful sear on the outside that locked in all the flavor. Served with classic accompaniments like crispy fries and a rich, flavorful sauce, it was a satisfying and indulgent dish that hit all the right notes.

A Perfect Evening at Julie’s

Overall, my experience at Julie’s was nothing short of exceptional. The combination of cozy ambiance, attentive service, and beautifully crafted dishes made for a memorable dining experience. Whether you’re looking for a casual meal or a celebratory night out, Julie’s is a must-visit in Notting Hill.

If you’re in the mood for classic French fare with a modern twist, and an atmosphere that feels both intimate and elegant, Julie’s is the perfect spot. Be sure to try the Steak Tartare and Steak if you visit—you won’t be disappointed!
